A Cute Bronchitis
Popularity: 15%
You’d never really know it just by looking at her because she’s almost ALWAYS adorable, but our little Olivia has acute bronchitis. Now she’s BACK on the breathing treatments, steroids, and all the other medications to help fight the infection.
Don’t know what acute bronchitis is? (neither did I.) According to familydoctor.com:
“Acute bronchitis is an infection of the bronchial (say: “brawn-kee-ull”) tree. The bronchial tree is made up of the tubes that carry air into your lungs. When these tubes get infected, they swell and mucus (thick fluid) forms inside them. This makes it hard for you to breathe. You may cough up mucus and wheeze (make a whistling sound when you breathe).”
Fun-sounding, huh! She’s been coughing lately, but this morning she actually started puking up her milk (all over us and the bed) so Jessi took her in. The doc also said she has “sensitive airways” - something we figured since she’s been having issues like this from hour 4. ![]()
Hopefully she’ll be better soon. It’s rought seeing her when she’s actually sick (and not just throwing a fit).
But with her cuteness and her Mom’s extra-special love and care, she’ll kick this thing.
