TIME’s Person of the Year? ME!

and YOU!
Turns out that TIME magazine decided that you and I are the 2006 “Person of the Year”. According to this article, it’s because of all the Web 2.0 changes over the last year or so. Web 2.0 is the term given to the Internet in today’s day and age referring to the new wave of the web. It’s no longer about just “surfing” the Internet, but actually being a part and contributing in personal blogs, videos on YouTube, and photos on Flickr. We’re now a World Wide Community.
So, they’ve put a mirror on the front of the magazine (clever) and are letting people send in their own photos to be chosen from for the huge electronic billboard in Time’s Square.
I think it was a bold and interesting move for TIME. I’m sure it will be under criticism, but you better believe this is going on my resume. “TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year, 2006.” That ought to impress. lol
