One of the Hardest Things

any believer will go through is changing churches.  Some will do it many times, others not so much, but it’s hard, nonetheless.  That is exactly what we’re in the process of doing.  We actually don’t know where we will end up, and we don’t have a “bad” reason for leaving our church - we both just feel now is the time.  It’s something we’ve had on our hearts for years now, but never really felt God’s blessing to do so.  I felt the Lord still using Jessi and I in the ministries we were involved in, and there just wasn’t peace.

Now, there is.  I can’t tell you why, or what’s changed, but there just is.  We’re firmly resting in His hands now - wherever he will lead.

We visited 1 of probably only 2 churches in the area that we would consider for our 2nd time today.  The first time we visited, it was a little less desirable than it was today.  For starters, when we visited a few weeks ago, the Senior Pastor was away - which wasn’t that big of a deal because the Associate Pastor had a good message, but it didn’t give us a feel for the average Sunday.  We also didn’t visit the “young-married’s” sunday school class either.  Today, things were “normal”.  The Senior Pastor was there (and his message was great), the Sunday School class was full of couples our age and both encouraging and lively, and so many people seemed to welcome us with open arms.

I’m not sure if this is where we’ll end up or not, but one thing’s for sure - it’s still hard.

We’ll be meeting up with our current Senior Pastor this week to let him know that we’re looking and also that it’s no fault of his or the church’s - it’s God just saying, it’s time to move on.  Just another chapter beginning in the lives of us here at the KipferHome.
