Adoption Meeting Update

Well, we met with the birthparents (and the birthmother’s parents) today for about 2 hours. It was actually very comfortable to talk openly and honestly with them and I think they felt the same.

There are still unanswered questions about whether or not they will choose us - or even if they will ultimately choose adoption once she’s in the world or decide to care for her themselves, but both of us know that the Lord will work out what’s best for this little girl. Both Brooke and Eric (the birthparents) - although only 18 - seem to be taking this baby very seriously, and mentioned that their faith is what is helping them through this. They also have a large network of families that are supporting and encouraging them through this process.

Continue to pray for them, their families, and us as we make it these next few months. Although we may know soon whether we have been chosen to adopt their little girl, she is still considering raising her, so nothing will be finalized until probably 3 or 4 days after the birth - which at this point, is scheduled for December 28th.

God is in control.
