I'm sure you don't remember much about your Great Grandma Kipfer since she passed when you were just a little boy. She was a remarkable woman, an incurable optimist in the face of obvious pessimistic circumstances. Even though she endured many difficult times in her life, she remained true to her Christian faith until God called her home in 1983. She lovingly raised four children by herself after losing her husband to encephalitis when her youngest (your Papaw) was only 2 1/2 years old. One of the greatest legacies a woman could ever hope for is evident in the lives of her children, and as the Godly woman depicted in Proverbs 31 "her children arise up, and call her blessed". It was truly an honor to have known Mrs. Aaron (Mary) Kipfer, even if for only a few short years.
